Welcome to STARS High School

Three reasons to refer adolescent students with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges to STARS High School:

Stars High School's instruction is integrated with mental health counseling that supports learning and skill development. The goal is returning to a less restrictive school or graduation from STARS High School.

Individualized instruction is designed by an education specialist and is based on the IEP (Individual Education Plan)

We offer three options for instruction and counseling:

1. Day Treatment Classroom: The school day includes 4+ hours of an intensive mental health treatment program
2. Alternative Classroom: Limited educational counseling is provided for students not needing the full day treatment program
3. Supported Study Classroom: Classroom, online, and at home study are combined for students who cannot attend daily due to work-study or other limitations.

STARS High School is WASC Accredited

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Accreditation Commission for Schools have granted STARS High School a three-year term of accreditation. STARS High School provides instruction and related services to students with emotional, behavioral and learning challenges. It is among a small number of private special education schools that are WASC accredited.

What WASC accreditation means for STARS High School:

• The accreditation validates the student's transcripts to ensure that high school credits are accepted nationwide.
• Each student's grade report and/or transcript will be embossed with the WASC accreditation stamp.
• STARS will meet WASC's challenge to continue to improve specific areas, such as data-based decision making.
